Privacy is a fundamental right. This policy explains what data Batchtab collects, why it's collected, and how it's protected. Plain language, no legal fog.

What we collect
Account information
When you sign up, Batchtab collects your email address and basic account details. This is used to create your account and communicate with you about the service.
Operational data
The core of Batchtab is your operational data: orders, production schedules, inventory, dispatch information, returns tracking, equipment tracking, and team activity. This data is yours. Batchtab processes it only to provide the service.
Usage data
Batchtab may load PostHog Cloud EU for product analytics — pages visited, features used, and general performance metrics — to improve the service. Analytics run in cookieless mode (no PostHog cookies or browser storage; audience measurement uses a privacy-preserving server-side hash). On the public marketing site, Batchtab may also load Simple Analytics for pageviews (cookieless, no advertising profile, no cross-site tracking). Batchtab doesn't track you across other websites.
Technical data
Like any web service, Batchtab's servers log IP addresses, browser types, and request times. This is used for security monitoring and debugging issues.
How we use your data
- Provide the service — Processing your operational data to run production, fulfillment, dispatch, and inventory workflows
- Communicate — Sending you important updates, responding to support requests, and (with your permission) product news
- Improve the product — Understanding usage patterns to build better features
- Keep things secure — Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and security issues
What we don't do
- Batchtab doesn't sell your data. Ever.
- Batchtab doesn't share your operational data with other customers
- Batchtab doesn't use your data to train ML models for other purposes
- Batchtab doesn't show you ads
Legal bases
Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — Account data and operational data, so we can provide Batchtab.
Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — Security logs and cookieless analytics, to keep the service safe and improve it. You may object (see Rights).
Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) — Invoicing and records we must keep under German commercial and tax law.
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — Optional product news, only if you ask for it.
Data security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Batchtab uses tenant-scoped access controls and operational practices designed to protect customer data. Sensitive fields such as credentials may be encrypted at the application layer. Production infrastructure is hosted in the European Union.
Data retention
Batchtab keeps your data for as long as your account is active. After we confirm account closure, we delete or anonymize associated operational data within a reasonable period. Some records may be retained longer for legal, security, or accounting reasons (for example invoicing).
Your rights
Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to:
Request a copy of all your data
Fix inaccurate information
Request deletion of your data
Request your data in a portable format (handled manually today; self-serve export is not in the product yet)
Opt out of certain processing
Ask us to limit processing in the cases Art. 18 GDPR provides
Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For a Berlin controller that is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, or any other authority in your member state.

Cookies
Batchtab uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember preferences. Product and website analytics do not set cookies (cookieless PostHog Cloud EU and Simple Analytics — see Usage data). Batchtab doesn't use advertising cookies.
Third-party services
Batchtab uses a limited number of trusted third-party services:
- Cloud hosting — To store and serve your data securely
- Email delivery — To send transactional emails
- Payment processing — To handle billing (Batchtab doesn't store card details)
- Error monitoring — To detect and fix issues quickly
- Product analytics — PostHog Cloud EU (see Usage data)
- Website analytics — Simple Analytics (see Usage data)
Where GDPR requires it, we rely on processor terms and transfer safeguards those providers make available. Contact us for the current subprocessor list.
Open data attribution
Where Batchtab ships pre-populated reference data, the upstream source is cited on the item show page and in spec sheet exports. Platform-level attributions:
